Andrew Young

In employment  law, Andrew undertakes cases in all the main areas of dispute. He has particular experience of restrictive covenant claims in employment contracts. He has drafted revised terms of business for a leading employment agency to ensure compliance with recent government regulations. He has expertise in dealing with employment law cases which intersect with other areas of the law (notably, commercial and property law).

Andrew has considerable experience of acting for both claimants and defendants in relation to accidents abroad and the conflict of laws issues which arise in such cases. He has handled a large number of holiday claims, many of them multi-party actions. He is rated in Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 as a leading junior in Travel Litigation.

He undertakes landlord and tenant work and has conducted litigation on behalf of tenants of a residential building asserting the new statutory ‘right to manage’. He also has experience of property disputes between unmarried couples, particularly those involving a foreign element.

He has experience of professional negligence claims (especially involving clinical and solicitors’ negligence), and of professional conduct proceedings (particularly in relation to the health sector).

Andrew has recently been appointed as a PIcArbs panel arbitrator.
